This patient presented with blocked-out teeth—including the upper left lateral incisor (22) alongside a dental Class III bite. Creating space was only part of the challenge. Bringing the upper tooth forward to “jump the bite” required meticulous planning and careful sequencing. We began with the upper arch, using an open-coil spring to create space before guiding tooth 22 into alignment. Only toward the end did we introduce Class III elastics to refine how the upper and lower teeth fitted together. Every smile has a story, and this transformation was about bringing the whole bite into harmony. Our patient came to us with an increased overjet, meaning the upper front teeth projected too far forward, a deep overbite, and a narrow upper arch. A narrow airway was also noted during assessment. With a carefully planned treatment sequence, we worked step by step towards this beautiful finish: 🔹 Upper jaw expansion to widen the narrow upper arch and create room for improved alignment. 🔹 Twin Block treatment to guide the lower jaw into a more forward position and improve the relationship between the upper and lower teeth. 🔹 Class II elastics to refine how the teeth fit together and put the finishing touches on the bite. The result? A broader smile, improved overjet and overbite, and a beautifully coordinated finish. But our favourite part? Seeing just how happy our patient was with their new smile!
